I finally moved to the Fixin' To and as it often is in life, the unexpected happened. They're purchase of the building got postponed and, in turn, has postponed my ability to operate out of my cart. Luckily however, after a fit of torrential brainstorming, my pizza oven has landed itself inside the Fixin' To.
So have no fear Pizza Contadino is still here, it just doesn't look like it. From 6:00pm until the bar closes Wed thru Sun you can call (pizza phone 503 935 4375) or walk in and sit down and grab a large 16" or a small 9" pizza to go or to sit down and eat at the nice warm friendly bar.
So watch out St Johns - things just got a whole lot cozier
Side note: Untill I start selling out of my cart again in March, I will not be offering slices, just the whole pizzas a 16" or a 9"
THANKS GUYS HOPE ALL IS WELL .. SEE YOU SOON!!

Movin on up!!
Hey guys, been a while. This is my ( the guy behind the counter ) first time actually blogging, so go easy on me. Well first things first lets get you updated. My new location is one block past wear I used to be, N Charleston and Lombard. My hours have also changed, I now work 3pm to 10pm Tue-Sat, 3pm to 8pm on Sun and Monday I'm closed.
Now for the real big news. WE GOT VOTED ONE OF PORTLANDS FIVE BEST FOOD CARTS in the recent WW restaurant guide !!!!!!
oh-oh-and-wait-oh-theres-more. In a few months Pizza Contadino will very proudly and victoriously be moving to the parking lot of the best bar in St Johns, none other then the Fixin To which will be putting me right back on Lombard and Richmond. This move will effect my hours, of which I will keep you informed
On to pizza, I've had alot of great ingredients recently to many to keep track of. Matter of fact the customer usually will remember better then I do what I make, which is fine by me. I'll just keep making them, you tell me which ones where the best.
Some of my favorites however,
mustard-cream sauce with bacon, brie and escarole
mushroom, zuccinhi, balsamic glazed red onion and feta
roasted potato, smoked padron peppers, sausage and goat cheese
horseradish-cream sauce with arugula, red onion, roasted beets and toasted walnuts
oh yeah and Kale! Kale! Kale!
Come see whats going on a pizza next

Tonight's special is a house-made sausage pizza with awesome leeks from Proper Eats in St. Johns. We've also got a chocolate hazelnut cake to satisfy those sweet teeth of yours!
Also, friends... thank you! Yesterday was one of our busiest days ever. It's so nice and so very appreciated to see you all braving the elements in the name of Pizza Contadino. Many many thanks.

thanks again everyone. apologies for any inconvenience.
we didn't take this picture, but this is the kinda thing that kept us from making you pizza.

SPECIAL THINGS. like meatballs and pudding.
Hello again! Again this week we'll be offering the meatball sub. They've been a pretty big hit, so come and get one while you can (please, and thank you)! We're also offering a mighty special special this week. BREAD PUDDING! Delicious and spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg. It comes with a scoop of our house made fig and orange jam and a dollop of fresh whipped cream. YEAH!
As usual, we'll have a variety of fine pizzas for your dining pleasure. Last week there was a pretty nice helping of roasted potato options available. Get ready for whatever this week will bring! Thanks and hope to see you soon.
